A Story not of a Suicide

She flinched her back heading down towards the direction of her toe. She had read somewhere that just an attempt to maintain a straight posture can fill one with self-determination and confidence. Realizing that she was unable to maintain her posture made her feel more miserable. After many days, she missed her college again. She locked herself the whole day. Walls of her room were just chuna-white waiting for another coat of bright color to be painted; she stared the ceiling of her room the entire day.

Hanging is the easiest way to die, she knows that. By the look of people hanged in movies, one may not develop that inference but scientifically you die before your brain could get a slight hint of the pain of being hanged. As a student of anthropology, she knows by fact that majority of people in world who have attempted suicide had chosen to be hanged. The ceiling in her room had a hook in the centre, probably meant for holding a ceiling fan. She imagined herself in the hook instead of the fan. She does that a lot. One day she even placed a chair right below the hook and kept a stool above the chair. Standing in the stool, she thought she would kick the stool after winding her favorite white scarf around her neck. One..Two..Thrr….She couldn't kick the stool.

Truth Everywhere ....

Worth a Watch..

Nothing but the Truth directed by Thomas A. Reillry and played as protagonist, Rachel Armstrong by Kate Beckinsale is a wonderful politico cum court-room drams that depicts how things are on the two sides of law.

Rachel is a Journalist in a political news based paper. America's president is shot dead and it is revealed that some group of Venezuela had role in this. Therefore, U.S government sends a military troop to Venezuela for investigation. Prior to that, a CIA operative Erica Van Doreen goes to Venezuela and brings out the report that Venezuela has nothing to do in President's assassination. But her report is completely ignored by the government and the troops are still sent to Venezuela (Probably for other purpose). Rachel finds this information somewhere and publishes the whole story in the national daily without revealing her sources claiming that she has right to confidentially secure her sources. Meanwhile, it’s a crime for any government official to leak any national-security interest information to general public or any other authority. So, Rachel faces a law suit for keeping the criminals record (the CIA operatives) who leaked the story secret. Not just a law-suit but

Burden of a Black Coat

a short review.....

If you want to change the system, be a part of it. Sahid lived and breathed his last breath for this belief.
'
Sahid' is a work of fiction based on the fascinating true story of slain human rights activist & lawyer Sahid Azmi, accused of terrorist links; he was imprisoned under a draconian law before he went to become a fearless lawyer.
The film traces the awe-inspiring journey of an impoverished citizen who became n unlikely messiah for human rights and an inspiring testament to the human spirit. Hansal Mehta's latest film Shahid, based on the life of slain defense lawyer Shahid Azmi, is a powerful story about a man who stood up for what he believed in and paid the price for it.'

It's a movie that makes you hopeful and then hopeless, but yet offers you the strength not to lose hope.

Roy Black, "By showing me injustice he taught me to love justice. By teaching me what pain and humiliation were all about, he awakened my heart to mercy. Through these hardships I learned hard lessons. Fight against prejudice, battle the oppressors, support the underdog. Question authority, shake up the system, never be discouraged by hard times and hard people. Embrace those who are placed last, to whom even bottom looks like up. It took me some time to find my mission in life - that of a criminal defense lawyer. But that 'school', and that Teacher, put me on my true path. I will never be discouraged. Even thorns and thistles can teach you something, and lead to success."

Sahid has this paragraph on his office door. The movie starts with Sahis'd death and continues with what he had experienced in his journey of becoming and practicing as a defense lawyer. Shahid gets ragged in a case linked with what is suspected as terrorist activity. After immense torture in penitentiary, he finally signs the confession statement. Accused of terrorism case, he stays in prison for more than two years awaiting the announcement of 'not guilty'.

Brain Damage !

source:.....
Recently, a drama show of “Matha Panchar” written and directed by Rajan Khatiwada came to an end in Mandala Theater. Praised and appreciated by many, the drama reflected some of the major concerns of our society. It is a story of a poor village boy who wants to become a government school teacher. He walks in for the interview, stands out as the most qualified one and becomes simply rejected because another authority sends a different teacher for the school he applied. With a sick mother in his home to take care of and constant threats by the local thugs, he finds no other alternate for livelihood than to go for one of the Arabian countries for employment. Who never lost hope even in the darkest days of his life, Bijaya the village boy, returns dead in a dark coffin. And, this is how the drams ends leaving audience with tears and melancholy.

Well, that is not just the whole story. The circumstances that forces Bijaya to walk out of his country are even more tragic. Remnants of the decade-long  conflict have taken the form of local thugs who are now flourishing in every corner of sub-urban cities and villages. If you think it’s hard to find one; think of the syndicate holders,  karyakartas, dons of terai, smuggling tycoons heard now and then in the Radio and many others disguised behind the impressive luga they wear.

Should I even talk about corruption?
